Terms of Service
These terms are the agreement between you and PaintedApp, LLC, which runs Painted Natal. Buying from us, or using the site, means you accept them. If you don't, please don't order.

In your browser: the clock's conversion to UT, the chart and the drawing of the plate. On our server, only at checkout: the birth, the town and your title, to draw the print.
What you are buying
A Painted Natal print is a chart of the sky at one minute over one place. The Sun, the Moon and the planets from Mercury to Neptune sit at their ecliptic longitudes as seen from the Earth's centre, with the Ascendant, the Midheaven and twelve houses under the system you choose, and the aspects between the bodies inside the orbs the plate names. It is drawn in the ground, ink and title you choose and printed on the paper or canvas you choose, or sent to you as a Digital File.
The plate prints positions and nothing else. It describes no sign, interprets no placement and forecasts nothing. No image generator touches it: the code that draws the proof in your browser draws the print file on our server.
You must be 18 or older, or the age of majority where you live, to order.
Made to order
Every print is drawn and printed for one birth. Nothing is held in stock and nothing can be resold, so please check the date, the time, the town and the title on the proof before you pay. Your order goes to the print lab after payment, so a print can't be cancelled or returned once it's under way, except where the fault is ours or the law says otherwise. The shipping and returns page sets out what we do when something goes wrong.
If something arrives wrong
If your print arrives damaged, defective, or not what you ordered, write to us within 30 days of delivery with a photograph and we'll remake it or refund you. That is our own promise, and it sits on top of your statutory rights, which nothing here reduces.
The birth you enter
You give us a birth (a date, a clock time or a UT, and a town or its coordinates) with your title and your choices, and at checkout a name, an address and an email. You grant us only what we need to make your order and get it to you.
A birth is personal data. If the chart is someone else's, please be sure they would be glad to see it printed.
Your purchase licenses the print for personal use: hang it, give it, photograph it. It doesn't transfer copyright in our drawing of the wheel or in the software, and it doesn't license commercial use or resale. If you'd like a commercial arrangement, write to us and ask.
The Digital File
A Digital File is the print-ready JPEG of your plate, sent as a download link on the page after you pay and by email, instead of being printed. Nothing is shipped. Your purchase licenses the file for personal use: print it as often as you like for yourself, frame it, and give the prints you make as gifts. It doesn't license resale or commercial use, or passing the file on for other people to print. If the file is faulty or isn't the plate you set, write to us within 30 days and we'll fix it or refund you.
Fair use of the site
Please don't scrape the site, resell access to it, or use it to produce anything unlawful, including titles that use someone else's trademark or impersonate a real person. We may decline or refund any order at our discretion.
The honest limits
Every placement is computed by the page's own code and checked against JPL Horizons at eight moments from 1930 to 2026, and the worst difference found is printed on every plate. Even so, a chart is only as right as the time and the place it is given. Before 1970 the time zone database's rules are reconstructed from the record and can be wrong for some towns, which is why you can type the UT by hand. The wheel is cast from the Earth's centre, as charts are, so the Moon can sit up to about a degree from where it stood in the town's own sky. Pluto is not drawn. Screens and paper differ.
A print is a picture of a calculation. It is not an astronomical instrument or a reading of anyone's character or future, and it should not be relied on for navigation, for a legal record of a birth, or for any decision.
The site and everything on it are provided as they are, without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim arising out of an order or these terms will not exceed what you paid for the order it concerns, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Prices and payment
Prices are shown before you pay, and Stripe's checkout page shows the full total, including any shipping, before you confirm. Stripe charges your card; we never see or store your card details. Prodigi or Printful prints and ships each print, whichever gets it to you for less, and shipping is charged at what that lab charges to send it, with nothing added. Import duties, where they apply, are the recipient's responsibility.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and disputes will be heard there, except where consumer-protection law where you live gives you the right to bring proceedings in your own country. Before filing anything, please write to us so we can try to settle it directly.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top always says when. Orders are governed by the terms in force when you placed them.
